Indications

No-calorie and sugar sweeteners (suitable for diabetics), hypoglycemic (lowering the blood sugar), hypotensive (lowering the blood pressure)

Pharmacology

Stevia plant, due to the composition of diterpene glycosides (stevioside, rebaudioside etc.) is known as a calorie-free sweetener. The active ingredient of this plant (stevioside) is 300 times sweeter than a solution of 40% sucrose (sugar). Despite sweetness, Stevia plant causes lowering blood sugar and with mechanisms such as increased insulin secretion and insulin sensitivity, reduces abnormal glucose (diabetes). Reduction in arterial pressure was observed in long-term consumption of stevia.

Direction

Pour 3 to 6 drops as sweetener in a cup of tea or glass of water and drink it. Do not exceed 1 ml (about 30 drops) per day.

Drug Interaction

 In case of concurrent use of these products with sugar-lowering and blood pressure-lowering drugs, control your sugar and blood pressure regularly.

Concurrent use of Stevia with sugar-lowering drugs may excessively reduce the blood sugar.

Concurrent use of Stevia with pressure-lowering drugs may excessively reduce the blood pressure.

Side effects

There is the possibility of bloating or nausea in some people.

In people with low blood pressure, hypotension might be happened.

In rare cases, cardiac complications (reduced arterial pressure) and kidney failure have been reported for stevia.

It is possible to cause allergic reactions for the ones who are sensitive to plants of the sunflower family.
